The fourth episode of Game of Thrones season 7 has reportedly been stolen and leaked on the Internet.
The next installment, titled “The Spoils of War,” first appeared on Reddit on Friday morning. It was shared via a Google Drive Link but was later taken down, according to The Verge.
Sources close to HBO claim that the breach was caused by a distribution partner called Star India. Throughout the leaked episode, the company’s logo appears watermarked over the picture.
A Star India spokesperson confirmed the leak in a statement.
“This confirms the compromise of episode 4 of Game of Thrones season 7, earlier this afternoon,” the spokesperson said. “We take this breach very seriously and have immediately initiated forensic investigations at our and the technology partner’s end to swiftly determine the cause. This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action.”
This isn’t the first time that Game of Thrones has fallen victim to episodes leaking early. The first four episodes of season 5 were released on the Internet after screeners of the episodes were sent out to the press.
