WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 AHEAD! ONLY LOOK IF YOU WANT TO KNOW!

If you’ve seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, you know Marvel took a major step in expanding the cosmic part of its universe. Characters like Starhawk, Charlie-27, Adam Warlock, Ego, and The Watchers were all introduced.

However, if you paid really close attention, you might have noticed the subtle hint that the biggest cosmic entity in Marvel’s history was present an accounted for. It looks like Peter Quill had a run-in with the leader of the Cosmic Powers of the Marvel Universe, Eternity.

When Peter was first put under Ego’s control, his eyes began to grow darker, until they seemed entirely black. When you looked a bit closer though, you could see that his eyes were actually filled with the night sky. It looked as though his eyes were filled with space itself.

Eternity takes on the same effect in the comics. Instead of having a skin tone or features, his entire shape is filled with nothing but the stars and planets of space.

This may have just been a coincidence, but one of Peter’s next lines seemed to confirm that he was actually connecting with Eternity.

“I see…Eternity.”

Pretty obvious, right?

As the cosmic universe of Marvel expands, it wouldn’t be surprise if Eternity takes on a bigger role. Adam Warlock has had issues with the entity many times. His story would be a great way to bring Eternity to the forefront of the MCU.
