The Walking Dead fans have one thing on their minds for the past six months… “When is Negan going to die?”
The villain introduced for the show’s seventh season has been responsible for more beloved character deaths than the zombies themselves. Making his presence known, Negan took out Abraham and Glenn to kick things off. That was only the beginning. He later killed Spencer and Olivia. He was also responsible for the deaths of Benjamin and Richard at the Kingdom. Now, it seems like he’s going to put Sasha away, to top things off.
The Season 7 finale sounds like it is going to be the beginning of the end for Negan, though. Dwight actor Austin Amelio tells ComicBook.com the episode will be a big “turning point” for the series, Rick actor Andrew Lincoln danced after reading the script, and now Daryl Dixon himself Norman Reedus is chiming in.
“I did the same thing when I read that one,” Reedus said of Lincoln’s dancing. “It’s nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here, and it’s nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running towards killing this guy.”
While killing Negan likely won’t happen in the Season 7 finale, it’s relieving to know that Rick’s army will be on the offensive going forward.
Many of The Walking Dead’s cast members have voiced their displeasure with filming Season 7. Not only were the groups separated, keeping them apart from their favorite co-stars, but acting the oppressed, bullied, and devastated with loss roles seems to have taken its toll on much of the cast.
“It’s completely different than all the other ones,” Reedus said. “It has similar elements, but it’s completely different, and, you know, there might be a little William Wallace in it.”
