Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7 follow.
The extended Episode 7×07 of The Walking Dead was packed with several storylines and questions regarding the futures of several characters. One of those characters is Jesus.
After sneaking into the Sanctuary unnoticed by both the characters and audience, Jesus was revealed to be hanging out on top of a Saviors truck as it pulled out and head back to Alexandria. However, just before it left, Jesus hopped off of the truck — not to be seen again in the episode.
As for where the ninja-like Hilltopper disappeared to, it’s anybody’s guess at this point. One person who knows the answeri s Jesus himself, Tom Payne, which is why posed the question to him directly in an exclusive interview on Monday morning.
“Well, he’s not on the truck,” Payne said. “He can’t be many places because there aren’t that many places to go. I think if you noticed, you saw that Daryl noticed that he was up there. We did actually have a shot, but we didn’t get around to it. We saw each other, so he’s seen that Daryl is there and maybe wants to try and help out. We’ll see.”
Shortly after his disappearance, a note was slipped into Daryl’s cell with a motorcycle key and message to, “Go Now.” Was it Jesus?
“Well, that’s a maybe,” Payne said. “I wish he could’ve done that, as well.”
So, where is Jesus? We will find out in the Midseason 7 finale coming up this Sunday but, according to Payne, there are some more interesting plot lines which will be fleshed out in the final episode of 2016.
“I can’t say too much, but I guess if we get back to the Sanctuary, we might see [Jesus] again because he’s not going to be anywhere else, or he’ll be around the Sanctuary area,” Payne said. “I’m interested to see how Rick takes to coming back and finding Negan holding Judith.”
